Which Pyro characters should I level up in Genshin Impact?
Amber
It’s a blessing for players that Ember is also a great investment as an arsonist character, as she is coincidentally the first character that every player unlocks. She is especially useful as an off-field support character or as a DPS support. This is due to her Elemental Burst, Fire Rain, which allows Ember to cover the battlefield with a rain of fireballs from a long distance. She is also very helpful with puzzles and exploration, and in combat, her skills allow for great AoE potential as well as hitting weak spots with her bow.
Yanfei
Yangfei is the definition of a character that deals pure damage. Her gameplay model revolves around her. Scarlet Seal mechanic that causes her charged attacks to become stronger the more Seals she has. Her other abilities like Signed Decree and Done Deal generate seals by dealing their own damage, making Yanfei a stable DPS funnel with huge uptime.
Dilyuk
Like Yanfei, Dilyuk can deal incredible damage. This is due to two factors: his Pyro abilities and the fact that he wields a Claymore, which is one of the most powerful weapons in the game. His Elemental Burst, called Dawn, first knocks enemies back for damage from the Pyro, then summons a phoenix that flies forward for more damage from the Pyro, and finally sets his Claymore on fire, causing others to Attacks deal additional Pyro damage. Combine this with his 3-part Burning Rush attack, as well as his charge and dash, and you have incredibly harsh melee DPS.
Xiangling
A long underrated character in the DPS department, players eventually realized that Xiangling is one of the best 4-star DPS characters in the game. This is almost entirely due to Xiangling’s Pironado which has incredible damage scaling as well as constant interaction with other elements and buffs. While this limits her ongoing DPS potential, Xiangling’s burst damage is absolutely devastating regardless of the number of targets.
Hu Tao
Hu Tao is a bit of a difficult character due to the fact that her abilities depend on her HP to cast. However, if built right, she deals an incredible amount of damage, using effects that scale her damage when she’s low on HP. She has two passives that increase her damage output when her health is below 50%. While this means that she walks a fine line between life and death, juxtaposing her with shield characters mostly negates this shortcoming, allowing her to easily survive by dealing the highest possible damage per second.
Yoimiya
Yoimiya’s main advantage when using a firework bow is her massive single-target damage. However, to reach her full potential, she needs a great support team to channel her energy as she struggles to generate it on her own. Also considering her Elemental Skill and Elemental Blast both benefit team play by applying Pyro to enemies. If the player can make good use of their characters, they will be rewarded with incredible DPS from Yoimiya.
Bennett
Many consider Bennett to be one of the best support characters in the game, and for good reason. His elemental skill Passion Overload allows him to trigger Elemental Reactions and his elemental explosion Fantastic Journey grants large damage buffs to healthy characters in his zone, permanently healing any characters below 70% in it, while while applying the Pyro to the characters’ attacks. These qualities allow Bennett to unlock the full potential of his allies.
Klee
Don’t let her small stature fool you, because Klee is a devastating damage option in the Pyro position. Her normal and charged attacks deal consistent area damage, while the bombs created by her elemental skill, Jumpy Dumpty, offer massive explosive potential considering enemies walk over them. Finally, Klee’s Elemental Burst Sparks and Splash summons persistent sparks that attack nearby enemies, dealing continuous Pyro damage.
Tom
As a shield character, Toma is a great support option for the team, as his shields can protect both himself and his allies. The shields he creates using Burning Blessing and Crimson Ooyorai scale with his HP and have the added benefit of offering additional protection against Pyro damage. In addition, other characters can change during Crimson Ooyorai and gain additional protection for themselves immediately. This makes Touma’s shields potentially one of the most versatile in the game, if not one of the strongest.
Xinyang
Even though Xinyan wields a Claymore, ironically Xinyan is a powerful support due to his defensive abilities. Her elemental skill Sweeping Heat creates a shield that increases based on the number of enemies hit by the attack. If at least 3 enemies are hit, the shield will deal continuous Pyro AoE damage. Her best support abilities come from her passive skills, which serve to boost her allies’ damage and weaken her enemies with debuffs.
