Strong performance by Landin: Cup winner Kiel follows in the league

The THW Kiel added four days after winning the German Cup in the Bundesliga. The record champion won his home game against HSG Wetzlar on Thursday with 27:24 (13: 8) and thus strengthened his second place in the table. Sven Ehrig with four goals for Kiel and Stefan Civor with five goals for Wetzlar were the best throwers.

From 6: 6 the North Germans pulled away to 10: 6 (19th). Wetzlar stayed without a goal for more than eight minutes and then weakened himself shortly before the break when Adam Nyfjäll after a male attack against Kiel’s Croatian captain Domagoj Duvnjak existed (29th). After his third time penalty, a second HSG player also saw the red card (47th) in Felix Danner.

The Middle Hesse, who had won three of the last four games against the THW, were only dangerous in front of the 9613 spectators. THW keeper Niklas Landin showed a strong game, who came on 21 parades. Ten defended balls and a hit by the German national goalkeeper Till Klimpke were not enough for Wetzlar.
