The FC Augsburg plans beyond the ongoing season with Markus Weinzierl as a coach.
The extension of the expiring contract is likely to be a formality after the final securing of the remaining in the Football Bundesliga, as FCA Managing Director Stefan Reuter after the 0: 1 at FC Bayern Munich more than just suggested. “We do not have to open the topic,” Reuter said to the currently open future of Weinzierl.
“Now we have to retract the necessary points and then we will put together in peace,” Reuter announced. Both sides knew what they had in touch, emphasized the manager.
Weinzierl is a second time coach of FC Augsburg. The 47-year-old came in the final season of the past season and managed the league. “You realize that the team has developed,” said Reuter to Weinzierl’s work in recent weeks. With 32 points, the FCA is in 14. Reuter assumes that two victories are enough to play next season in the Bundesliga.
