“You can see, I can move normally again. I still have to wait a bit with race. I hope I can increase the next few months more and more and hope I can put together in the middle of the end of the year,” said the 40 years old Swiss on Saturday at ZDF. Federer saw in Lenzerheide, in the immediate vicinity of his residence, at the alpine ski race and called himself as “giant skiing”.
Federer puts the crutches in the corner
The long-standing number one in the world had been operated on the right knee for the third time in August. Most recently, he stood at quarter-finals in Wimbledon in July 2021 at a match on the tennis court. “It was a difficult time the last months. I was two months on crutches, I’m back on the legs,” Federer described his health.
The Swiss has gained 20 Grand Slam tournaments. The statistics are now led by Spaniard Rafael Nadal, who conquered Title Number 21 at the Australian Open in Melbourne.
