Frostbite Was So Disastrous For Bioware & EA That Mass Effect 5 May Use Unreal Engine 5 Instead

Income, join our team and work with us on the next Mass Effect, Holmes wrote on social networks. This recruitment announcement does not necessarily confirm that the game will operate on any form of the Unreal Engine. However, other sources claimed that the future project would specifically use Unreal Engine 5.

Last September, sources revealed that Bioware considered different options for Mass Effect development engines. EA has its own frostbite engine. However, it seems that developers have decided to use the Unreal Engine of EA. If this is true, EA will pay to EPIC of license fees for this partnership.

Apparently, developers have been relatively hard to work with frostbite for Mass Effect: Andromeda. It apparently does not contain specific engineering to handle the types of game experiences that Bioware publishes.

That said, fans were not surprised when the developers decided to go to Unreal Engine 5 for the next entrance of the franchise. Now, developers hope to go towards a much better place in terms of development to move forward.

The Mass Effect: Legendary Edition did not use Unreal Engine 4 and operated instead on Unreal Engine 3. The one of the things we made at the beginning, to somehow put a certain context, it is That we actually spoke to the people of Epic, said Mac Walters de Bioware. It has soon become clear that the jump level would really change fundamentally what the trilogy was, how it felt, how it was playing.
